John brings 33 years of experience in the financial services industry to MidAmerican Aerospace. He joined the company in July 2005 as Managing Director for Business Development and Strategic Planning.  John was born in Columbus, Ohio but grew up in Iowa and received his B.A. in Economics from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

He began his professional career in the Investment Department of Life Investors, now part of AEGON, N.V., and then moved to SCI Financial Group as Director of Research. In 1978 he co-founded SCI Capital Management which reached over $800 million of assets under management in less than twelve years. SCI was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2001.

John’s financial experience and guidance has been an important element in the steady build-up of MidAmerican’s inventory financing, accession of the Arizona and Iowa offices and warehouses, and to the roadmap for MidAmerican's growth.

John is a devoted husband and father to 3 children.  He has served as a trustee of Cornell College, and has been active in many community activities, including: Cedar Rapids Community Schools, Cedar Rapids / Marion Iowa Chambers of Commerce, The United Way, Friends of the Cedar Rapids Public Library, Hillcrest Family Services, and Rotary Club.
